Will cricket minnows Ireland turn into Tigers?

SAvsIrelandAfter registering a morale booster win against India on Saturday, South Africa has excitedly geared up to face an encounter with minnows Ireland in their World Cup Group B encounter on Tuesday at the Eden Gardens in Calcutta.

A win against Ireland will ensure a berth for the Proteas in the quarter finals of the tournament. Not surprisingly, the Proteas have decided to take full rest ahead of the match with the cricket babies with the full confidence that the minnows Ireland may not turn into tigers while playing against them.

While South Africa simply considers that Ireland can never pose a threat to their hegemony in cricket, it turns out to be the most important match for the minnows. Ireland gets an opportunity in the match to showcase its growing batting and bowling prowess and cause an upset by defeating the higher ranked team.

Pakistan defeats Zimbabwe

In a World Cup Group A match on Monday, Pakistan picked up two points defeating Zimbabwe convincingly by seven wickets to retain the second spot next to New Zealand in the group while Sri Lanka and Australia are placed at third and fourth positions. But Australia is bound to jump above the teams as it has yet to play 2 league matches while the first three teams have only one match each to play.

In the Group B, India leads the table followed by West Indies, South Africa and Bangladesh.
