Second Test: India off to a strong start against England:- After losing the first test match by a margin of 247 runs against England, the second test between India and England commenced today in Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai. India won the toss and elected to bat. The Indian batsmen remained strong right from the first over. Rohit Sharma has been in top class form and scored 161 (231 balls) with 18 fours and 2 sixes. Shubman Gill and Indian skipper Virat Kohli had to return without scoring runs while Cheteshwar Pujara (21) has been decent. Ajinkya Rahane (67) played one more key innings.

Indian wicket keeper Rishabh Pant (33 not out) and Axar Patel are at the crease. India scored 300 runs for the loss of six wickets in their first innings on day one. Olly Stone (42/1), Jack Leach (78/2), Moeen Ali (112/2) and Joe Root (15/1) have been decent among the English bowlers. Indian batsmen are expected to utilize their best out of the first session and score big making a huge score so that they bring England into the needed pressure. Kuldeep Yadav, Ishant Sharma and Mohammed Siraj are yet to bat among the Indian batsmen.
