A Petition Filed Against IPL 2020:- With the arrival of coronavirus pandemic, all the sports events across the world are closed. The spread of coronavirus is huge in the country and the BCCI is in plans to conduct IPL 2020 at any cost. They are well aware that it is not possible to conduct the tournament in India and moved IPL 2020 to UAE. All the necessary permissions of IPL 2020 are acquired and the IPL 2020 will start from September 19th and will continue till November 4th. An advocate filed a petition in Bombay High Court challenging the decision made by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). The petition was filed by Abhishek Lagoo, a Pune based advocate.

He said that conducting IPL 2020 outside India would result in a huge revenue loss for the country and he wanted IPL 2020 to be conducted in India. "IPL is the most popular league for cricket lovers and is the major source of revenue earner for BCCI" said the petitioner. A division bench headed by Chief Justice Dipankar Datta and Justice Revati Mohite Dere will hear the petition today and will announce their verdict. IPL 2020 was planned to commence in March but it was pushed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
