Australia won the toss and elected to bat first. They have been quite consistent with the bat and Australia managed to get 286/9 in their 50 overs. Steve Smith (131), Labuschagne (54) and Alex Carey (35) are the top scorers for the side. Mohammed Shami was expensive but he took 4 wickets for 63 runs in his ten overs spell. Ravindra Jadeja (2/44) and Kuldeep Yadav (1/62) have been decent with the ball.

Chasing a target of 287, Team India never struggled and had a smooth sail. Hitman Rohit Sharma topped the chart with his 119 and he got a huge support through Virat Kohli who made 89 runs. Shreyas Iyer (44 not out) made India chase 287. The target was achieved in 47.3 overs and India lost three wickets. India bagged the ODI series against Australia with this victory. Rohit Sharma has been named as the Player of the Match while Virat Kohli bagged the Player of the Series award.
