Tri-Series Opener: Sri Lanka Beat India By Five Wickets:- India has been touring in Sri Lanka and the first T20I of the Nidahas Trophy took place last night in R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. Sri Lanka defeated India in the first T20 and won by five wickets. After India managed to get 174/5 in 20 overs, Sri Lanka managed to chase the target in 18.3 overs by losing five wickets. Kusal Perera scored 66 in just 37 balls which made Sri Lanka defeat India quite easily. Perera reached his half-century off 22 deliveries which is huge.

Before this, Indian opener Shikar Dhawan made 90 runs of 49 deliveries which made India reach a respectable total of 174/5 in 20 overs. Manish Pandey's 37 runs supported Dhawan and the duo added 95 runs for the third wicket. However Kusal Perera's destructive innings brought a comfortable victory for Sri Lanka in the first T20 match. Kusal Perera has been awarded with the man of the match award.
