Sourav Ganguly to Write a Book

Sourav Ganguly, one of the world's greatest cricketers ever is now writing his first book. In this book he will write about the challenges he faced and how he kept overcoming them again and again.

“No, the book is not called The Comeback King. That could be a chapter in my autobiography," Ganguly laughed when asked why not.

His publishers, Juggernaut, headed by Ms Chiki Sarkar, told him he was too young to write one yet.

"And you should not write an autobiography till you can be absolutely honest," Ms Sarkar said.

Ganguly’s book will be called ‘So A Century is Not Enough’. It will be about challenges he faced, challenges not just in cricket but in all that went into scoring those centuries.

"Your boss doesn't like your face, " he says, "That's happened to mean could happen to you and may be you are not getting ahead in your profession as quickly as you think you deserve."

Also, insights into tackling situations like, last night, ahead of the choosing a coach for India, when he just couldn't sleep, got tired of staring at the ceiling, logged into YouTube, watched himself scoring his first century and dropped off.

At a press conference Ganguly said that his book to will hit the shelves only next year. He added that well-known cricket journalist Gautam Bhattacharya would work with him on the book.

Ganguly also spoke about his current role in appointing the new coach of the Indian team.

“I once had an opportunity to pick a coach in 2005 and I messed it up. To be honest, I have been thinking of coaching India a couple of year’s back, today I am selecting one. That is how life is, nothing is guaranteed."

When asked about the book, he said, "A century is not enough goes with the life of a lot of people because many are not blessed like Sachin Tendulkar. You don't always get that extra advantage because you are so good. Every other player in the world has gone through this. One has to learn how to deal with life."
