Shikhar Dhawan, bowlers guide India

Team India  has won a historic battle against South Africa in their second game of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015. Played at the Melbourne Cricket ground, Indian captain MS Dhoni won the toss and elected to bat first, but it was not a great start as Rohit Sharma was run out for duck. The in-form Virat Kohli came into the crease and with another opener Shikhar Dhawan kept the scoreboard ticking. Both put up an 100 run partnership. Virat who was in the edge to get a half century was out for 46 runs and then Rahane took the game away. Both Dhawan and Rahane smashed the Proteas bowlers. Dhawan completed his seven ODI hundred while Rahane scored a quick 79. In the end, Dhoni's handful contribution helped India to surpass 300.

Chasing the 308, South Africa batsmen were under severe pressure. Mohammed Shami provided the first break for India dismissing de Kock cheaply. Then Mohit Sharma removed the dangerous Hashim Amla with a bouncer. Proteas captain de Villiers and Faf du Plessis counter attacked the Indian bowlers and pushed the scoreboard. However, it was the run out of de Villiers that turned the game for India. From here wickets of South Africa were falling at regular intervals and finally they lost the match by 130 runs.
