The all New Hyundai Tucson: Features and Price

The all new Tucson SUV from Hyundai motors is launched at a starting price of Rs 18.99 lakh. The top variant may go up to a price of Rs 24.99 lakh .This is the third SUV from the Hyundai. This SUV tries to bridge the price gap between the very popular Creta and Santa Fe.    This is the third generation Tucson which is released here in India. The first generation Tucson model was discontinued after a brief run in the market.
 
The new SUV is available with choice of two engines- a 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol unit is powered by a 155hp and 192Nm and is mated to a six speed manual or six-speed automatic gearbox. The 2.0-litre four-cylinder diesel engine is powered by an 185hp and a torque 400Nm.This unit also comes with a choice of a six-speed manual or automatic gearbox .All wheel drive option is not available in this version.
 
Tucson is available in three trim levels 2WD M/T, 2WD A/T GL and 2WD A/T GLS .The top trim model is available in diesel version only.
 
The new SUV has the usual standard set of equipment such as automatic projector headlamps, reclining rear seat, heated wing mirrors with electric adjust and retract, puddle lamps, cruise control, rear parking sensors and camera, and an 8.0-inch touchscreen AVN system with navigation, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and voice recognition. As part of safety features Hyundai has included dual airbags and ABS.
 
The entry level version does not include the features such as auto climate control, rear air-con vents and leather upholstery .These are available in higher trim models. The higher trim model has features such as LED headlamps, 10-way power adjust driver seat, electric parking brake and hands-free tailgate operation. In addition to this the top trim model also comes with curtain airbags and stability control.
 
A three year unlimited kilometre warranty is provided on its new SUV from Hyundai. Loyal customers of Hyundai will get additional fourth year coverage.
 
The prices of Hyundai are quite competitive. It has few competitors in the market. The petrol version of the SUV has a direct competition with Honda CR-V (Rs 22.23 - 26.37 lakh) which has a choice of petrol engines. The diesel version does not have direct competitors. The recent price slashes on models such as Chevrolet Trailblazer and Ford Endeavour will have some impact on the new SUV.
 
The Hyundai Tucson 2WD M/T petrol variant is priced at Rs 18.99 lakh and the diesel variant is priced at Rs 21.59 lakh. The Hyundai Tucson 2WD A/T GL petrol variant is available at Rs 21.79 lakh and the diesel version is available at Rs 23.48 lakh. The Hyundai Tucson 2WD A/T GLS diesel version is priced at Rs 24. 99lakh.
