Black currants, packed with vitamin C and micronutrients, has been known for its nutritional benefits. Now a new study has suggested that black currants, lingonberries and bilberries could aid in weight loss. However, research revealed that regular consumption of acai berries may result in weight gain.
Scientists from the University of Lund suggested that daily consumption of black currants, lingonberries and bilberries supplements showed considerable effects on reducing obesity and also had beneficial effects on metabolism. Researchers revealed that consuming acai berries regularly led to weight gain and higher fat deposit in the liver.
Findings of the Lund University study was published in Nutrition and Metabolism journal.
