Researchers at the Baker IDI Heart and Diabetes Institute in Melbourne, Australia searched  beyond 3,200 previously published studies that discovered the link between diabetes and disability. Furthermore, they limited in range the catch down to 26 studies that compared like accompanying like. In the majority of instances of the people in these studies were aged over 65, an age category in which Type-2 diabetes, also called adult onset diabetes  predominates.
