Even though there are hundreds of varieties of dosas, we are well aware of just a few of dosas like Onion dosa, Masala dosa, plane dosa etc. So why to stop knowing about other dosas, when they are equally or in fact, more tastier than what we assume. So among those varieties, let us know about Vellai Dosa or Sweet Jaggery Dosa now.
1-1/2 cups whole wheat flour
3/4 cup jaggery powder
2-1/2 cups of water
1/2 teaspoon cardamom powder
Cooking method of Vellai Dosa
1. Firstly, dissolve the jaggery powder in a 1/2 cup of water and do not disturb it for 30 minutes. After the time is completed, strain the jaggery water to remove the impurities.
2. Add the wheat flour to the strained jaggery mixture and until you observe no lumps, stir it well. Add the remaining 2 cups of water and mix it to make a smooth Vella Dosa Batter. Toss in the cardamom powder and mix the entire thing well.

3. Now, for cooking Dosa, put a skillet on medium heat and pour batter on the skillet. To spread the batter, swirl the pan in a circular motion. Apply 1/4 teaspoon of ghee around the vella dosa and cook on a low heat, until it is well done. Flip over to cook the other side for a few seconds.
