Air Traffic increases in December

The data from the Civil Aviation Ministry said, the Domestic air traffic for December month has increased by 15.29 percent to 64.40 lakh passengers and the overall traffic for corresponding 2014 year rose by 9.70 per cent from 614.26 lakh to 673.83 lakh. The loss making airlines, SpiceJet has recorded maximum cancellations with 31 per cent while Air India's Domestic services stood at second. The overall cancellation of flight services recorded at 6.99 percent in December month.

IndiGo retained its position with highest market share with 36.1 percent while Jet Airways and Air India ranked second and third with 18.7 and 18.6 per cent respectively. GoAir had maximum complaints from passengers and SpiceJet followed.

AirAsia India and Air Costa market share stood at 1.1 percent each.
