Indian's Legal Fight Against Multinational Company

When taxes are to be paid by the employees, the tax refunds also should go to them. But the German based multinational company Bosch is asking all of its employees who are non citizens of US to repay the tax benefit received by them to the company. By applying coercion the company is deducting the amount from their pay.

Suraj Kamath who has been working for Bosch for many years objected the demand of the company to repay to the company the tax benefits received by the employees from Federal and State refunds.  The demand is not made from the employees having US citizenship.

Kamath worked for Bosch in India from 2005 to 2009 in India.  He was transferred to US in March 2009 and worked till May 2013. He was asked along with other employees to repay the tax refunds to the company by 15th January 2013. When Kamat refused to do so, the company threatened him with dire consequences that include firing him and making his life miserable.  When Kamat was stubborn and refused to pay the tax refunds the company asked him to return to India in May 2013.

Kamath who wanted to fight it out for him and also for the sake of his colleagues, filed a law suit against the company.  His colleagues who accepted the demands of the company had to pay the amounts as deductions from their salaries.
