SingTel Gets Nod To Buy From Indian Shareholders

As per the new norms of FDI, foreign companies can have 100% of the stake in the Company engaged in the telecom services.

SingTel is the first foreign company to avail this facility. Arvind Mayaram, Secretary Department of Economic Affairs revealed that the proposal of SingTel is cleared and now the company can buy the shares of Indian companies to make their investment 100%.

One of the share holders is Bharti Enterprises (Airtel) which has 9.9% share in the SingTel which has not made any comment on this so far.
