Sensex elevates over 46 points in early trade!

On Thursday, causing distinct break in a three-day losing streak, the BSE benchmark Sensex recovered by over 46 points in early trade on emergence of buying by funds amid a mixed trend in other Asian bourses.

Moreover, the 30-share index, which had lost nearly 321 points in the previous three sessions, recovered by 46.29 points, or 0.24 per cent, to 19,408.84 points, with stocks of realty, banking and IT sectors leading the recovery.

In fact, the wide-based Nifty of the National Stock Exchange moved up by 11.55 points, or 0.20 per cent, to 5,862.75.

According to the brokers, emergence of buying by funds as well as retail investors at prevailing levels amid a mixed trend on other Asian bourses after US markets closed at new high on Wednesday, mainly buoyed the trading sentiment here. They added anyhow, wholesale price-based inflation data for February, to be released later today, would be crucial ahead of RBI’s policy review next week.

To conclude, in other Asian markets, Japan’s Nikkei index rose by 0.76 per cent, while Hong Kong’s Hang Seng shed 0.32 per cent in early trade today while on Wednesday, the US Dow Jones Industrial Average ended 0.04 per cent higher.
