The Airport Authority of India had prevented the lessors who had leased planes to KFA from taking them back after KFA had defaulted on the payment of rentals. The lessors had wanted to withdraw at least 6 flights that have been rented and parked at Chennai, sources said.

AAI had also received a legal notice for not passing the releasing order from the lessors. AAI has however contended the legal claim saying that KFA which was already bankrupt was also in its debt with over Rs 300 crore that have been accrued after failing to pay the landing and the parking charges.

A spokesperson had also revealed that they are trying several viable options that would retrieve the indebted money.

It is no news that the insolvent KFA had also stopped paying its employees the salaries from five months while a few had been cut off from their salaries for over six months. The company has been defaulting on payments to AAI, oil companies, aircraft leasing companies and the government tax authorities.

However, KFA parried the embarrassing situation by not being available for a comment.
