Owning a Mercedes is like owning a palatial bungalow. The German carmaker who is marked as a status symbol, would probably like to add the youth icon status to increase sales. This is understood form the way the unveiling of the soon to be launched Sports Tourer had been done. The car was unveiled by Peter Honegg, Managing Director and CEO, Mercedes-Benz India in the presence of Debashis Mitra, Director, Sales and Marketing, Mercedes-Benz India and actor Genelia D’Souza at the Budh International Circuit in Noida.
Genelia shall join her hubby Ritesh Deshmukh soon and the couple shall be in the company of Kalki Koechlin and Gaurav Kapoor. The four will be on an adventurous trial "Ultimate Touring trail" (UTT). This would enable consumers to drive the B-Class to exotic locations and explore the B-side of life, that is Adventure.
The B-Class Sports Tourer is a multiple car bundled into one body as per sources. It has the versatility of an MUV, ride quality of a sedan and dynamic performance of an SUV. Mercedes-Benz wants to draw the youth to buy the B-Class, something which they haven’t been able to do as well as BMW and Audi. Thus, the B-Class is positioned as a vehicle for the young at heart and prototype vehicles will arrive at dealerships soon. Bookings of the car will start by the last week of August.
