Rupee value recovering, gains 9 paise against USD in early trade

On Tuesday, at the Interbank Foreign Exchange market, the value of rupee increased marginally by 9 paise at 55.83 against the US dollar after being sold by the banks and exporters in early trade.

Forex dealers reported that a higher opening mark in the stock market was an important factor that aided the gain, though marginal. The recovery was witnessed after losing value in 4 sessions. A strong dollar value overseas against euro on disappointing US jobs growth figures have restricted the gains of rupee to a minimum.

The sustained demand for dollar has resulted in a loss of 50 paise for the rupee and closed at 55.92 yesterday.
