Nokia plans to cut 10,000 jobs

Mobile phone major Nokia is planning to cut as many as 10,000 jobs across the globe as a cost cutting measure. Nokia warned its management that the cell-phone business would face acute loss in the second quarter. It is known that Nokia has been planning cutting jobs ever since Stephel Elop became the chief executive in September 2010. With the new figure adding up to the previous number, the total proposed job cuts would be 40,000.

It may be noted that Nokia's business has been apparently affected due to the Symbian Operating System. Nokia now plans to switch to Windows Operating System.
