95kg tumour in woman’s stomach removed in UP

The doctors took out a massive tumour weighing 95 kg, from the stomach of a woman from Meerut, Uttar Pradesh.

Kamlesh Devi has been suffering from pain for five years, but her husband refused to move to the doctor, because of the family’s financial status.

Six months ago, the woman’s husband passed way and it was then she decided to consult a doctor. According to a government scheme, fortunately, she was entitled to get free treatment.

From the right ovary of the woman’s stomach, the doctors removed the tumour, taking nearly three hours of time. According to the surgeon Dr. A S Jaggi, Devi was already in severe pain, when she arrived at the hospital.

“The tumour had started leaking and it would have turned fatal if there was any further delay,” he said, adding that he had never seen such a tumour in his whole career until now.

Reportedly, the tumour was 3 ft in length and 2 ft in width. After removing it out, it has been sent for the testing to a pathology laboratory. Dr. Jaggi further revealed that, Limca Book of Records was contacted to see if the tumour could qualify for the official recognition.
