A woman in Hongkong, was arrested for allegedly attacking a police chief inspector with her breasts. The incident was taken severely by the activists, including men and staged a protest wearing bras.

The protest took place at police headquarters in Wan Chai district, Hongkong, where a few of the protestors are spotted holding up bras, and others wearing them over their tops.

Among the protestors, a male activist wearing a black bra said, "We better watch out, as one day police might accuse us of attacking with our penis or buttock."

All the time, the crowd chanted "Breasts are not weapons -- give back our breast freedom" and "Shame on police".

 

What consequences lead to Bra protest?

Ng Lai-ying, a 30 year old lady was protesting against mainland Chinese cross-border traders. While a chief inspector tried to stop the protest, the lady allegedly used her chest to bump against the arm of chief inspector Chan Ka-po. The aggressive police took the issue seriously and arrested her.

While handling the female protesters, police must review their guidelines. How can breasts be a weapon? Ng Cheuk-ling, an activist from Hong Kong Women's Coalition on Equal Opportunities, said.

Giving an explanation for her indecent assault, Ng Lai-ying said, “I did it because, Chan’s hand was landed on my left breast, after he failed to grab the strap of my bag.

But magistrate Michael Chan Pik- kiu said, “she used her female identity to trump up the allegation that the officer had molested her”, and opined it was literally to harm Chan’s reputation.
