Drill the land, you find these

We walk, we run, we jump, we sleep and do all kind of activities on earth. If we dig a hole, what all we find is much more mud, but do you know what our scientists found, lets get into the detail.

Generally we dig the holes for bore, a similar kind of activity yet bit distinct activity was done by our scientists in 1970. The Soviet Union almost spent 24 years on this drilling project which resulted in   The Kola Superdeep Borehole. There is one main hole which is further classified as multiple boreholes.

In 1989, they reached the 40,240 ft (12,262 meters) deep which is roughly 7.6 miles deep. If you can believe this is the deepest artificial point on Earth till date.

The scientists actually intended to reach 49000 ft (15,000 m) but could't do it. As the temperature anticipated was 100 °C (212 °F) at that depth, but actually it was found to be 180 °C (356 °F). Drilling further might exceed the temperature capacity, so avoiding the risk, scientists came back in the year 1992. But speaking about the experience, they said, its not only about the temperature, but there are many other things you can learn from drilling the land.
