Jagan Constitutes YSR Congress BC Cell Committee:- Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy is actively championing the cause of the Backward Classes (BC) as part of his strategy for the upcoming 2024 elections. To solidify the support of the BC community, he has established a YSRC BC cell committee, headed by prominent BC leader Janga Krishnamurthy. This committee, which forms a crucial part of the party's Mission 2024, consists of three vice-presidents, eight zonal in-charges, five general secretaries, 15 secretaries, and 10 joint secretaries.

During the 2019 elections, Krishnamurthy, along with other BC leaders, played a pivotal role in drafting the party's BC Declaration and successfully attracting BCs, who were traditionally supporters of the Telugu Desam party, to the ruling party.

In a strategic move, Jagan Mohan Reddy has also accommodated several BCs in his Cabinet and offered them nominated positions as MPs and MLCs.

The committee's office-bearers, apart from Krishnamurthy (Palnadu), include the following individuals: Dola Jagan (Srikakulam), Kandru Kamala (Mangalagiri), and Bathala Hari Prasad (Sri Sathya Sai) as vice-presidents; Dharmana Krishna Chaithanya (Srikakulam) as in-charge for Zone-1; Thulli Chandrasekhar Rao (Visakhapatnam) for Zone-2; Alli Raja Babu (Kakinada) for Zone-3; Kasagoni Durgarao Gowd (NTR) for Zone-4; Botla Rama Rao (Prakasam) for Zone-5; Thodamalla Pullaiah (Tirupati) for Zone-6; Golla Nagaraju Yadav (Kurnool) for Zone-7; and Ramesh Gowd from Anantapur as the in-charge for Zone-8.

The government has prioritized BCs and other marginalized groups by allocating them a significant number of seats, positions, and opportunities. This inclusivity extends to various roles such as mayors, chairpersons of ZPs, corporations, temple trust boards, and sarpanchs. In contrast, sources from the YSRC party have revealed that Jagan Mohan Reddy is currently focusing on BCs as they hold the power to influence the outcome of all 175 seats in the upcoming elections. They also highlighted that Jagan Mohan Reddy was the first to offer BCs Rajya Sabha seats, a gesture that the TD party never made, despite receiving support from BCs since its establishment.
