KCR to lay the Foundation Stone for Airport Metro:- The government of Telangana has been keen to connect the Hyderabad Metro to the airport located in Shamshabad. The big news is here and Telangana Chief Minister KCR will lay the foundation stone for the Metro Rai's Airport Express Corridor on December 9th. The corridor is spread across 31 kms and is a high speed connecting link from Mindspace junction to the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Shamshabad. This will benefit the commuters to the airport big time and will make the journey economical. The project cost is estimated to be Rs 6250 crores and it would cover the entire distance in 20 minutes. The journey will also have an underground section that is stretched across 2.5 kms.

Telangana IT Minister KT Rama Rao broke out the news about the program. "Hyderabad is Forging Ahead. Happy to announce that Hon’ble CM KCR Garu will be laying the foundation for Airport Express Metro on 9th December. This project starting at Mindspace junction to Shamshabad Airport will be 31 KM long & will be costing approximately ₹6,250 Cr. This AirPort Express Metro is a Telangana State Govt funded project & will be completed in 3 years. We have submitted DPR & are in discussions with Govt of India for additional 31 KM city Metro expansion; BHEL to Lakdikapul -26 KM & Nagole to LB Nagar - 5 KM" posted KTR. The government of Telangana approved the project in February 2020 of the second phase of the Hyderabad Metro. The Red Line between Miyapur and Lakdikapul is planned on a budget of Rs 8453 crores and it will go through BHEL, Gachibowli, Kondapur, Mehdipatnam, Raidurg and Masab Tank.
