35 Dead in AP floods: Villages on High Alert

35 Dead in AP floods: Villages on High Alert:- Andhra Pradesh is shattered with the recent rains and several villages, towns are left flooded. The death toll in the state climbed to 35 and four bodies have been recovered from Cheyyru village. The districts of Chittoor and Nellore received huge rainfall and the district administration of Chittoor issued high alert for 16 villages. The Rayalacheruvu reservoir received cracks after 500 years. Senior Officer PS Pradyumna, Chittoor District Collector M Harinarayanan, and Tirupati Superintendent of Police Venkata Appala Naidu paid their visit to the reservoir. Several measures are now taken to prevent a disaster. Two teams of National Disaster Response Force and State Disaster Response Force are deployed for relief.

The bridge connecting Papagni river between Kamalapuram and Valluru collapsed on Sunday. The road is closed and the officials diverted the traffic through alternate routes. Several highways across Nellore and Chittor are badly damaged and the railway track in Nellore district is closed. The South Central Railway canceled and diverted several trains that are connecting the south states. 4257 people from Nellore district are shifted to 92 relief camps that are arranged. 1366 villages are impacted in total in Andhra Pradesh due to the heavy rainfall. 2007 houses have been damaged in total and 1137 houses were submerged completely as per the reports from the officials. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy asked the officials to take care of the relief activities.
