Gujarat hospital accident: 18 Coronavirus patients dead:- At least 18 people were killed after a fire broke out in a coronavirus hospital in Gujarat's Bharuch. There are 50 patients in the hospital in the four-storeyed Patel Welfare COVID Hospital in Bharuch and the fire broke out at 1 AM in the premises. The locals and the firefighters rushed to the spot and carried the rescue operations. Rajendrasinh Chudasama, The Superintendent of Police said that the fire broke out in the ICU due to the short circuit. The fire was doused soon and 16 patients along with two nurses passed away in the incident. Zuber Patel, the trustee of the hospital called the incident unfortunate and the other patients are shifted to the nearby hospitals in the town.

Gujrat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani tweeted saying "I express my condolences to the patients, doctors and hospital staff who lost their lives in the fire accident at Bharuch Hospital. The state government will provide assistance of Rs 4 lakh to the families of each of the victims of the accident". Two IAS officers along with the Additional Chief Secretary for Labour and Employment Vipul Mitra are asked to investigate the matter and take care of the rescue operations of the accident. "Pained by the loss of lives due to a fire at a hospital in Bharuch. Condolences to the bereaved families" posted Narendra Modi on his twitter.  The hospital is located on Bharuch-Jambusar highway which is 190 km away from Ahmedabad and it is run by a trust.
