All Indians above 18 years of age can take vaccine shot from May 1st

The second wave of coronavirus is making a huge impact across the country and some of the states are heading for a lockdown. There is huge scarcity for beds and the oxygen cylinders across the country. The vaccination drive too came to a halt after there is a shortage in the vaccinations in some of the states. The government is now under extreme pressure and the Indian government announced that all the Indians above the age of 18 years can take up the vaccination shot for coronavirus from May 1st. The Centre also asked the states to procure the vaccine doses from the manufactures and get prepared for massive drive. All the vaccine manufactures are asked to supply 50 percent of the stock to the Centre and split the rest to the states along with the open market.

The key decision to vaccinate all the Indians was made after a series of meetings that are held recently and chaired by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi. A new vaccination policy has been introduced by the Indian government about the pricing, eligiility, procuring and administration is made flexible after a series of meetings. The government will continue to offer the vaccination for free of cost in all the government hospitals across the country. The daily tally of coronavirus stands at 2,59,170 in  the last 24 hours. The total number of recoveries are at 1,31,08,582  and the total cases are 1,53,21,089.
