Telangana running out of beds after the rise in the cases:- The new cases of coronavirus are increasing on a fast note in all the states. Telangana is no exception and the state's capital Hyderabad reported huge numbers in the recent week. Telangana is now running out of beds because the sudden rise in the number of cases. The Health Department of Telangana ordered Gandhi Hospital to be converted into a COVID-19 treatment hospital considering the currrent situation as there is a huge scarcity for beds in the hospitals. Though the Telangana government claimed that there are enough vacant beds, the situation is completely different for now. There are several patients who are waiting for ventilator or CPAP support. The Health Department issued orders to stop other services in Gandhi Hospital and convert into a coronavirus treatment centre considering the situation.

Gandhi hospital will stop all the services from today along with the outpatient services. All the non-covid patients will be shifted to other state-run hospitals. As per the reports, there are 10,279 patients admited in various hospitals in the state. As per the state records, the total number of beds available in the state are 27,775. The private hospitals are packed and there is huge scarcity for beds in the state for now. The situations in states like Maharashtra, New Delhi, Gujarat, Kerala are alarming. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi reviewed the situation in the country after more than 2 lakh new cases of coronavirus are reported in the country on a regular basis. Modi had a review meeting with the health officials.
