Ganta Srinivasa Rao meets KTR in Hyderabad:- Andhra Pradesh ex-Minister and TDP leader Ganta Srinivasa Rao has been idle and is away from politics after the 2019 polls. There are several speculations that he would shift his base to another party but he is yet to take any move. Ganta Srinivasa Rao recently made strong statements against the privatization of the Vizag Steel Plant which was proposed by the Centre. He announced that he would stage a protest against the Centre's decision. In a surprising move, Ganta Srinivasa Rao met Telangana Municipal Development Minister KTR today in Hyderabad. The meeting took place in the Assembly lobby during the tea break.

There are talks that Ganta Srinivasa Rao requested KTR's support against the privatization of Vizag Steel Plant. During the recent MLC election campaign, KTR made statements against the privatization. He said that he is ready to support the protests. Ganta Srinivasa Rao said that he came here to thank KTR for his words and views against the Vizag Steel Plant privatization. KTR promised to visit Vizag with his team of ministers soon after the Assembly sessions are concluded. Ganta Srinivasa Rao revealed that he submitted his resignation as MLA to protest against the Centre's move. KTR promised Ganta Srinivasa Rao to protest opposing the disinvestment of the Vizag Steel Plant.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy penned letters to Prime Minister Narendra Modi but the Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman clarified that the state government has no right to oppose the move as they have no share in the Vizag Steel Plant.
