Telangana Government to spend Rs 2500 Cr on RRR Land Acquisition:- The Telangana government is completely focused on the Regional Ring Road (RRR) and it is going to cost a bomb for the government. The project is estimated to be completed at a cost of Rs 16,000 crores and the state government will have to spend Rs 2500 crores on the land acquisition. The government will have to pay huge amount to own the properties for the road expansion. The Roads and Building Department also has to spend Rs 1000 crores on the service roads and other works. This would be the highest amount that the government is spending to acquire the land in the state for the project.

The Regional Ring Road is stretched across 340 kms to meet the future requirements of Hyderabad. Nitin Gadkari, the Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways recently announced that the project got approved and the Centre cleared the first phase of the project from Sangareddy-Narsapur-Topran-Gajwel-Bhongir-Choutuppal which covers 158 km and is named as National Highway 161AA. The Southern part covers a distance of 182 km and is spread across Choutuppal-Chevella-Shankarpally-Amangal-Sangareddy. The estimated budget for the first two phases is Rs 7561 crores and Rs 4633 crores respectively. The Centre agreed to bear 50 percent of the project cost along with the land acquisition for the project.
