Notification Released For AP Local Body Polls

Notification Released For AP Local Body Polls:- The Andhra Pradesh High Court asked the Election Commission to go ahead and conduct the local body polls in the state. The State Election Commissioner Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar today announced the notification for the first phase of the local body polls in the state. As per the announcement, the first phase of local body polls will be conducted in 11 districts of Andhra Pradesh and the elections in Vizianagaram, Prakasam districts are postponed. Ramesh Kumar said that the elections will be held following all the social distancing guidelines as per the coronavirus pandemic season.

He said that the local body polls are conducted as per the revenue divisions. He said that the elections will be held from 6:30 AM to 3:30 PM. He also said that the Election Commission would have several challenges before them during this coronavirus season. Ramesh Kumar asked the Andhra Pradesh government along with the officials to co-operate for the polls. He said that the Election Commission would not compromise on conducting the polls. He said that they would not tolerate any unexpected incidents to take place ahead of the polls. The Election Commission decided to keep the village volunteers away from the polls.
