KTR Announces Free 20,000 litres of Water per Family from January 2021:- Telangana Chief Minister KCR announced free water for every household before the GHMC polls and included it in the party manifesto. He said that the process would be implemented from December and every family would be receiving 20,000 litres of water for free per month. Telangana's Municipal Administration Minister KTR announced that the free drinking water supply will start from January 2021. KTR said that he had thorough discussions with the officials along with the members of the Water Board before the final decision was taken. TRS faced a major jolt in the recent GHMC polls.

BJP swept several seats and TRS failed to register a complete majority in the polls. KCR and KTR decided to rectify themselves and implement all the schemes at the earliest. The recent rains in Hyderabad left several colonies submerged and this happened to have a huge impact on the leading TRS. Several colonies are submerged for weeks and the announced relief fund did not reach major families in the city. With BJP emerging as the second leading party and gaining strength, KTR is completed focused. No party got a clear majority in the GHMC polls and the Mayor is yet to be decided. KTR conducted a review meeting about the water connections and the supply process of water in the limits of GHMC.
