YS Jagan's Sensational Move On Liquor Import:- The government of Andhra Pradesh hiked the prices of liquor in the state and introduced new brands which turned out to be a huge dent for the revenue generated for the Excise Department. People started importing liquor from the neighboring states like Telangana. The government of Andhra Pradesh arranged check posts at the borders and filed cases among those who are importing liquor to the state. Several petitions are filed in the AP High Court and the court announced that each person can travel with three bottles of liquor without any license. This turned out to be a further headache for the government of Andhra Pradesh.

The government of Andhra Pradesh issued a special GO which says that no liquor from neighboring states can be carried. The GO was against the High Court's order to carry three bottles of any size per person. This is a huge blow for the people of the state and the security across the borders has been tightened. All those who are coming from abroad will be allowed to carry two litres of duty-free liquor without any restrictions or permits. With the new liquor rules imposed, the sales in Telangana reached all-time high and crores worth of liquor is already smuggled into Andhra Pradesh.
