Raghuram Rajan Wants The Lockdown In India To Be Lifted:- Raghuram Rajan, the Former Governor of Reserve Bank of India (RBI) said that the lockdown extension will not be a good option for the country and it would not be sustainable as the economy should bounce back at the earliest. A pre-recorded video interaction of Raghuram Rajan was released across the social media platforms. Raghuram Rajan interacted with Congress leader Rahul Gandhi during which he made these comments. Raghuram Rajan said that the government should not wait till the last case of coronavirus leaves the country and should take a step at the earliest.

"The government is not successful in curbing the virus. We should not wait for 100% success. We do not have financial resources like the western countries to keep things under lockdown for a longer time. India should bounce back economically and if this should happen, the lockdown should be lifted. 100 million people already lost their jobs in the country. The government should prioritize and take a step soon. Steps like social distancing should be followed at work place. India need Rs 65,000 crores to feed the migrant workers and poor people to be fed across the country in the coming months"  said Raghuram Rajan.
