Vijay Mallya Gets A Shock From UK High Court:- Fugitive liquor baron and businessman Vijay Mallya lost his appeal in the UK High Court against the order of his Indian extradition for his financial irregularities. The 64-year-old businessman has been facing charges after he owes Rs 9000 crores to Indian banks. The final decision on Vijay Mallya's extradition will be taken by the Home Secretary Priti Patel. Justices Irwin and Elisabeth Laing announced their verdict through email. Vijay Mallya's extradition petition was filed in 2018. The judges sent a 46-page judgment through email and it said that the SDJ of prima facie case filed by Vijay Mallya was rejected.

Vijay Mallya's lawyer Claire Montgomery had appealed and all the six grounds were rejected. Vijay Mallya now lost the extradition case and the final call will be taken by Priti Patel, the UK Home Secretary. Vijay Mallya will now have 14 days' time to apply for an appeal in the UK Supreme Court. If he does not apply in the Supreme Court, Vijay Mallya will be extradited to India in 28 days. Vijay Mallya fled from the country after his Kingfisher Airlines incurred huge losses. Vijay Mallya owes Rs 9000 crores to Indian banks and Vijay Mallya is residing in UK. India has been fighting hard to extradite Vijay Mallya to India.
