11 Out Of 13 AP Districts Are Marked As Coronavirus Hotspots:- The Union Health Ministry identified hotspots across the country and alerted all states to be extra cautious in these regions. 11 out of 13 districts of Andhra Pradesh are named as hotspots or red zones as there are large number of positive cases in these regions. Vishakapatnam, East Godavari, West Godavari, Guntur, Krishna, Prakasam, Nellore, Kurnool, Kadapa, Chittoor and Anatapur districts are identified as hotspots. Srikakulam and Vizianagaram are the districts left out in the state. These two districts are classified as green zone districts.

The hotspots are classified by the number of cases or on the growth rate of the positive cases in the regions. All the districts who had no new cases in the last 28 days are named as green zone districts. The total number of positive cases of coronavirus in the country crossed 12,000. The government of Andhra Pradesh identified 42 mandals as red zones. Around 47 mandals are identified as orange zones and 587 mandals are in the list of green zones. The government made all the arrangements to deliver the household needs to their homes in the red zones. The districts of Guntur, Nellore and Kurnool contribute more than 55% of the cases in the state.
