17 Dead After A Bus From Bengaluru To Ernakulam Meets With An Accident:- A Volvo bus owned by Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) which is heading from Bengaluru to Ernakulam met with a road accident in Tirupur district, Tamil Nadu during the early hours of today. Over 17 people got killed in this tragic accident including the conductor. Several others got injured in this road mishap. The road accident took place at 3.15 AM in Avinashi, Tirupur after a lorry rammed into the Volvo bus. The lorry tried to overtake and collided with the bus.

The lorry lost its control, crossed the divider and rammed into the bus as per the preliminary reports. The bus got completely damaged by the incident. Tirupur SP confirmed that 17 people died and 22 others got injured. The rescue operation was on after several injured were left stuck in the bus. Most of the dead are from Kerala. The bus left Bengaluru at 8 PM and was expected to reach Ernakulam this morning at 7 AM. Some of the injured are said to be in critical condition. The driver of the lorry is currently absconding.
