Vijay Mallya Offers To Return Back Money:- Liquor baron Vijay Mallya fled off from the country and is residing in the UK after he owes Rs 9000 crores to Indian banks. In a surprising move, Mallya asked the banks to take back the principal amount he owed them. He made these comments at the end of his three-day British High Court appeal which is made to extradite him to India. Mallya is facing charges of money laundering, fraud and Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and Enforcement Directorate (ED) are fighting hard to bring Mallya back to India.
"I requested the banks to take the principal amount immediately. I did not commit any offence under Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). The Enforcement Directorate is saying no over the repayment and my assets are attached. What CBI and ED are doing to me are totally unreasonable" said Vijay Mallya. Lord Justice Stephen Irwin and Justice Elisabeth Laing are the two-member bench hearing the case and once the arguments are done, they said that the verdict will be out on a later date. The CBI and ED made it clear that Mallya lied to get the loans and he fled from the country without paying them back.
