Supreme Court has a New Shock for Vijay Mallya

Supreme Court has a New Shock for Vijay Mallya:- Liquor baron Vijay Mallya received back to back shocks after he went absconding from the country. He is currently residing in London and the London court initiated proceedings after the Indian government wanted to extradite him to the country. The Supreme Court of India today clarified that Vijay Mallya cannot use the pendency of his plea in the apex court to stall insolvency proceedings initiated by State Bank of India (SBI) in London. Chief Justice S A Bobde and his bench issued the order today. The Centre told the Supreme Court Vijay Mallya asked the London court not to take the matter as it is pending in the Supreme Court of India.

The UK Court is expected to reveal their judgment in a three-day hearing from February 11th. The CBI and ED officials already submitted all the documents to the UK Court. Mallya has to pay over Rs 9000 crores for the Indian banks and he fled from the country without any trace. He is currently facing the extradition trial in UK. He has been asked not to leave the country until the case is cleared.
