After 100 days, Chidambaram Granted Bail in INX Media Case:- Former Union Minister P Chidambaram has been arrested after he was facing allegations of money laundering in the INX Media case when he worked as the Finance Minister of the country. The Supreme Court finally granted bail for Chidambaram and the veteran politician will walk out of jail after 100 days. The top court granted bail on a bond of Rs 2 lakhs along with two sureties each. Chidambaram has been asked not to leave the country without the permission of the court. Chidambaram also has been asked not to interact with the media and make any public statements in the coming days.

A bench headed by Justice R Banumathi said that they would reveal their verdict today on the appeal filed by Chidambaram. The Delhi Court earlier rejected the bail petition of Chidambaram after ED and CBI argued that Chidambaram would influence the witnesses. Senior advocates Kapil Sibal and AM Singhvi who represented Chidambaram argued that there are no pieces of evidence that Chidambaram is involved in money laundering. Chidambaram was arrested by CBI on August 21st in the corruption case. Though he was granted bail, ED officials arrested him on October 16th in the money laundering case.
