Telangana Gets its First Child-Friendly Police Station:- Telangana got its first 'child-friendly' police station in Medipally region. The Rachakonda cops formally inaugurated the premises. The police station was designed and built in collaboration with NGO Bachpan Bachao Andolan (BBA), founded by Nobel Peace Laureate Kailash Satyarthi. It was spotted furnished with beds and water coolers and was decorated with paintings all over the walls. The police station is filled with toys, books and games. BBA will also organise a training session in order to raise awareness, sensitise and inform police personnel on the guidelines.

BBA CEO Samir Mathur said "The Telangana Police Department took his laudable initiative. Child-friendly police stations play a vital role in ensuring that every child has proper and timely access to justice. We are grateful to work with Telangana government and hope this alliance will bring justice to the children in the state". Rachakonda police commissioner Mahesh Bhagwat was the Chief Guest for the inauguration. State Commission for the Protection of Child Rights (SCPCR), Child Welfare Committee (CWC), District Child Protection Unit (DCPU) and District Legal Service Authority (DLSA) members participated in the event.
