Karnataka Government gets a Breather:- The JDS and Congress alliance has been struggling after a bunch of MLAs turned rebels and planned to join BJP. With the exit of 13 MLAs (10 from Congress and 3 from JDS), the alliance fell short of the magical mark. The state's Speaker Ramesh Kumar was expected to take a call on their resignations yesterday. Ramesh Kumar met the media saying that all the MLAs should attend in person and reveal the reason for their resignation after which he would take the call.

Ramesh Kumar now said that he needs at least six days to look into the resignations of 13 MLAs. “Every step I take will become history, so I can’t be committing a mistake. I need to be convinced that the resignations are voluntary and genuine" said Ramesh Kumar. The Speaker also clarified that only 5 of the 13 resignations submitted were in the prescribed format. They belonged to R Ramalinga Reddy, K Gopalaiah, Anand Singh, K Narayan Gowda and Pratap Gouda Patil. The Speaker asked all the other MLAs to submit their resignations again.
