Hyderabad's First Electric Buses To Be Out This Week:- Telangana Government has been in talks to introduce electric buses for public transport. Soon passengers will have to witness zero pollution buses which will come into operation in a week. The first set of buses will work to Shamshabad airport and 40 buses are all set to operate from different parts of the city to airport. The charging time of the bus is said to be 5 hours and the it can operate for 300 kms for full charge. Hyderabad will be the first city in the country to run on electric vehicles under Union Government's Fame India (Faster Adoption and Manufacture of Hybrid and Electric Vehicles).

Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) was the first one to introduce these vehicles in the country while states like Maharashtra, Karnataka and Gujarat are in race. M Ravindar, Executive Director (Engineer) revealed that a trial run was conducted for around 20,000 kms and it is successful. The number of buses are said to be doubled in the coming days. These buses will operate from Secunderabad, Kukatpally, Tarnaka, Uppal, Hitec City. The charging points are kept at Miyapur and Secunderabad Cantonment depots. TSRTC said that Rs 10 crores can be saved a year through these electric vehicles.
