Cyclone Titli Hits Odisha Coast: 2 Killed In Srikakulam

Cyclone Titli Hits Odisha Coast: 2 Killed In Srikakulam:- Cyclone Titli created havoc across Odisha and the coastal region of Andhra Pradesh after it crossed the coast today. It made a landfall in Gopalpur between 4.30 and 5.30 this morning which resulted in heavy rains and strong winds across the region. Trees and electric poles were uprooted in several regions. Atleast three lakh people from the coastal regions of Odisha have been asked to move to safe zone. Several trains and the flight services have been affected with the Cyclone Titli.

Cyclone Titli has been named as a severe cyclonic storm and it hit the coast at a speed of 140 to 150 kmph. The cyclone is now moving towards West Bengal and the Met department clarified that it will gradually weaken. Power supply has been cut off due to heavy rains and road lines got disrupted due to uprooted trees. Ganjam, Gajapati, Puri, Khurda and Jagatsinghpur districts of Odisha are receiving heavy rainfall. The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and Orissa Disaster Rapid Action Force are taking care of the rescue operations. Two people lost their lives in Palasa, Srikakulam district. Air Force and Navy have been alerted about the situation.
