Hyderabad HC orders fresh probe in Ayesha Meera's Murder Case: In a surprising move, the Hyderabad High Court on Friday ordered a fresh probe in Ayesha Meera's rape and murder case which took place a decade ago in Andhra Pradesh. The pharmacy student has been raped and brutally killed however the case remained unsolved. Now a bench headed by  Chief Justice Ramesh Ranganathan asked the cops to conduct a fresh probe and submit the report to the court before April 28th 2018.

Ayesha Meera was a 19-year-old bachelor pharmacy student who resided in a private women's hostel in Ibrahimpatnam was killed on December 27th 2007. A Special Investigation Team (SIT) will conduct the investigation soon and it will be headed by Ch Srikanth, Deputy Inspector General of Police. The Court imposed strict orders that the SIT officials should not be transferred till the probe gets completed. Satyam Babu who has been named in the case has been acquitted by the High Court last year. Prof Rama S. Melkote filed a PIL after which the Hyderabad High Court ordered a fresh probe.
