Railways Cuts Down Nap Time

Railways Cuts Down Nap Time:- Indian Railways have been messed up with back to back complaints about the sleeping time. Over the last couple of years, they received lakhs of complaints about the passengers sleeping for over time in the lower berth. Now the Railways stepped out with a sensational decision of cutting down the nap time of passengers. A circular has been issued which read that the nap time for passengers travelling in sleeper and reserved coaches will be between 10 PM and 6 AM. Earlier it was 9 PM to 6 AM and Indian Railways decided to cut down the sleep time.

The lower berth passengers have been sleeping overtime because of which the middle and upper berth passengers have been facing problems. The Railways informed that the passengers should be seated during the day time and the non-sleeping time. However there is an exception for old aged, pregnant women, disabled and sick passengers. The side berth passengers have complained lot about this. Ministry officials said the new directive will help Travelling Ticket Examiner (TTE) to resolve such disputes and the passengers can approach TTEs to get them resolved instead of writing to the Railways.
