Telangana Govt Imposes Ban On Plastics Used In Carry Bag:- A ban has been imposed by the Telangana State Government, on short-life Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) and chlorinated plastics in the state.

In December last year, after being directed by the National Green Tribunal (NGT), it has also banned burning of waste in open places. If found to be done so, the violator for every incident of bulk waste burning have to pay an amount of Rs 25,000 as “environmental compensation” and in case of “simple burning”, Rs 5,000 will be imposed.

On Monday, the draft notification on PVC and chlorinated plastics was issued and as per the notification, there will be a “complete ban on usage of short life PVC and chlorinated plastics.”

Over the next 60 days, any objections and suggestions will be entertained and should be addressed to the member secretary, Telangana State Pollution Control Board, Paryavaran Bhavan, A-3, Industrial Estate, Sanathnagar, Hyderabad-500018.
