Various Political Parties Demand CBI Probe Into Vizag Land Scam:- Various political parties have organized a demonstration in the city on Monday demanding inquiry into the irregularities in the Visakhapatnam Urban Development Authority (VUDA) land pooling and land scam in the district by CBI or a sitting judge.
The leaders who assembled in front of the Gandhi statue opposite the GVMC main office, took exception to the Government delaying action on those who grabbed thousands of acres of land in rural Visakhapatnam and diluting the issue in the name of special investigation team (SIT) inquiry.
It was surprising that no action was taken on Parachuri Bhaskara Rao, brother of minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao, though he grabbed five acres of government land to develop a layout and was selling it in the form of house-sites, they said.
The leaders also alleged that lands valued at several hundreds of crores of rupees were being advanced upon in Madhuravada area, but still the Government did not seem bothered. They demanded that the lands belonging to the poor be returned to them.
The people have lost faith in AP CM Chandrababu Naidu, they stated. Lok Satta State president Beesetti Babji, CPI leader AJ Stalin, CPM leader Mani and others spoke.
