PM Modi Greets Nation On Occasion Of Eid-ul-Fitr:- Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi, on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, greeted the nation and wished the spirit of peace and brotherhood may exist.

Modi said in a tweet on Sunday night. Eid-ul-Fitr translates as “the festival of breaking the fast” of Ramzan is being celebrated on Monday.

The PM tweeted:

“Eid-ul-Fitr greetings! May this auspicious day further the spirit of peace and brotherhood in our society.”

The Muslims perform one of the five pillars of Islam - the fast, during the month of Ramadan. Inspiration should be drawn from such pious festivals to spread happiness to take the nation forward, said PM Modi on Sunday. He had emphasized that India’s diversity is its specialty as well as its strength.

“The holy month of Ramzan was celebrated with devotion. Now it is time for Eid. On the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, my best wishes to all,” Modi had said.

“Here is what I had said about the special occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, during the #MannKiBaat programme yesterday,” tweeted Modi.

“The festival will strengthen the people’s unflinching faith in unity and common destiny, said President Pranab Mukherjee.

“On the auspicious occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, I extend greetings and good wishes to all my fellow citizens, particularly my Muslim brothers and sisters, in India and abroad. May this joyous occasion, which marks the culmination of the period of fasting and prayer during the holy month of Ramzan, bring happiness, peace and prosperity and be an opportunity to rededicate ourselves to serve humanity,” the president said. “May this day strengthen in each one of us, an unflinching faith in our unity and common destiny that has characterized our composite culture over the ages,” Mukherjee said.
