Toddler Slips Into 60-Feet Open Borewell In Telangana; Rescue Operations Underway:- In a terrifying incident, a 16-month toddler slipped into an open borewell in Telangana's agricultural field in Chevella in Ranga Reddy District. The rescue operations are underway. The police and the fire personnel have rushed to the spot to rescue the girl.

The baby has been identified as Veena, the daughter of a migrant labourer Yadaiah. When the incident occurred, the toddler's father was in the field  and mother Renuka was busy with household chores. The little girl slipped into the well in the dark.  The toddler's sister, Akshitha who noticed her sister falling in the pit, rushed to her parents and informed them.

A stringent action has been demanded against the Mandal Revenue officials by the NGO Balala Hakkula Sangam, for not ensuring the closure of such unsuccessful borewells.

When a similar incident occurred two years ago, Telangana's IT Minister Mr. K T Rama Rao had said that criminal action will be taken on guilty officials.

A year back, the family had migrated from Borapalli in Yalal Mandal to Ekkareddyguda in Chanuvelli in Chevella Mandal. The victim's father works in the field belonging to one Malla Reddy and the family stays in a hut on the field. The rescue is personally being supervised by Transport minister M. Mahender Reddy.
